“It was the way that they seemed to understand, Dad, They seemed to care about me, and somehow I felt that it was always one-on one contact even though other people were also in the room.”
That certainly was a dramatic statement especially coming from her.
So I asked her, after all this is over, what she wanted to do. She said “I just want to help others” and that she would someday like to work @ The Penn Foundation and “help others like they helped me”.
“Dad, I am so very sorry for what I have put you through, and if I have hurt you in any way, I hope you will forgive me, because I am going to make it this time.”
Somehow I believed her. I have always looked at things that happen to us in a life time and have always said the same thing over and over. “There’s a reason for everything”. So, on a personal level I would like to thank you and the Penn Foundation for helping to move my daughter to the next step toward her recovery, because I do believe for the first time, that she sees now that she matters, and life for my daughter is just a matter of taking a STEP forward. Thanks again
