Opening My Eyes to Recovery

I am new to getting help and new to recovery.  I want to thank Penn Foundation for walking me through this scary time and making it not too traumatic.  I never thought I would be someone who had to go to “rehab”, that is only for hardcore addicts or celebreties trying to stay out of jail - or so I thought.  I never thought my pain pills and drinking would get me into the kind of trouble they did.  When I realized (with the help of my friends) that I needed to get help, I didn’t know where to go or what to do.

Penn Foundation was recommended by a Pastor that I know, so I called to see what it was all about.  I was directed to the admissions department where I was treated professionally and kindly.  They answered all my questions and set the wheels in motion to get me an inpatient stay.

I am happy to say that with the help of my Higher Power, friends, and a 12 step program, I now have 88 days clean and sober.  I have the wonderful staff at Penn Foundation Recovery Center to thank for getting me in the door and opening my eyes to recovery.
