Working on a Real Life

I was a ptaient in your inpatient Drug and Alcohol rehab.  I wanted to let you know that on the 10th of November, I will be clean for 16 months.

I know 16 months isn’t a huge amount of time, but it’s a heck of a lot better than 45 days, which was the longest I was clean before.

I have just been hired as a store manager, and I finish my Associates Degree in the summer of 2009.  I will also pursue my Bachelors Degree in business.  Drugs aren’t even a thought, it pops in my head once in a blue moon but it makes me nauseous and cringe.  I don’t think of the high, I think of what a low life I was.  It’s nice having a bank account again.  And on Tuesday, I actually voted instead of hiding in a slum apartment waiting for the next delivery of my drugs.

Thank you for fighting so hard for me.
